Special Event on Wednesday, October 1st
Cavan County Local Development (CCLD) and Monaghan Integrated Development, in collaboration with the HSE Older Persons Services Cavan/Monaghan, were delighted to hold a special recognition event to celebrate the vital contribution of social groups in supporting and enriching the lives of older people across our two counties.
On Wednesday, 1st October 2025 a gathering was held at the Errigal Hotel in Cootehill, bringing together committee members, volunteers, and service providers in recognition of the dedication of volunteers, whose efforts ensure that older people are supported to remain active, connected, and independent in their own homes and communities for longer.
The event was co-hosted by Joanne McCabe, CCLD Older Persons Coordinator, and Bernie McHugh, MID Older Persons Coordinator, and was made possible by funding from HSE Section 39.
