How can local climate action drive social inclusion?
This case study explores how Monaghan Integrated Development CLG (MID) supported the Monaghan Community Allotment through the Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme (SICAP). By pairing €4,955 in Local Community Group funding with volunteer labor, allotment members installed a major 6,000-liter rainwater harvesting system and a multifunctional community hub—drastically reducing mains water dependency and lifting financial pressure off local growers.
