Introduction:
Monaghan Integrated Development (MID) is a Local Development Company funded by the Irish Government and charged with the delivery of a range of programmes whose main aim is to support specific target groups with a view to making a positive difference in their lives. We are an independent Company Limited by Guarantee and a registered charity, governed by a board of directors representative of Local Authority/Government, Community & Voluntary Sector, Social Partners and Statutory Agencies.

Established in 2008, a core role of the company is to promote social inclusion, encourage enterprise development, employment creation, and support access to education, training and lifelong learning. MID has a long history of working with New Communities and Local Community Groups within the County to promote language skills acquisition and support integration.

Fáilte Isteach Monaghan Supports:
We Belong - The County Monaghan Migrant Integration Plan and Action Strategy 2020-2023 recommends securing resources to facilitate the successful delivery of the Fáilte Isteach Programme in Co Monaghan. Under the SICAP programme MID wishes to engage a coordinator for Fáilte Isteach for the period of August to December 2023. Total hours required will be 250 approx.

The coordinator will;
  1. Support the reopening of Fáilte Isteach Groups in Monaghan town (x2), Clones and Carrickmacross
  2. Recruit/Engage with volunteer tutors to ensure they have the training and resources necessary to support the programme
  3. Support the recruitment and assessment of Fáilte Isteach students and assign them to a relevant group (Beginners, Intermediate, Advanced)
  4. Supervise the sessions on a weekly basis (Monaghan town – Tuesdays 10am – 12pm and 7pm-9pm; Clones Thursday 7pm – 9pm; Carrickmacross 11am-1pm)
  5. Support other MID officers where demands arise for additional language classes
  6. Liaise with CMETB to ensure cross referral/registration of FI students with CMETB ESOL classes and CMETB ESOL students to FI classes
  7. Maintain records of class attendance and progress
  8. Organise events to mark the end of term and to recognise volunteer tutor contributions

Submission of Quotations

Submissions should demonstrate:
  • Previous experience of supporting and tutoring Multi-cultural groups
  • Knowledge and experience of the wider community and voluntary sector
  • Evidence of relevant qualifications
  • Russian/Ukrainian language skills would be advantageous
  • All quotations to be quoted in Euros, and show the hourly price inclusive and exclusive of VAT. If travel costs will be applicable please indicate rate
Before any assignments are awarded we will require:
  • Evidence of adequate insurance in place – Professional Indemnity/Public Liability as appropriate.
Please note the number of hours assigned will be subject to price quoted and/or budget available.
