Innovating Communities (IC) is a new project in County Monaghan and across neighbour counties Cavan, Louth, Leitrim, Sligo and Donegal.

The project invites and needs community organisations, individuals and businesses like YOU to contribute and participate in a series of (free) facilitated sessions to work through an idea or challenge that you identify in your local area. Challenges and ideas can address Biodiversity and Climate Action to Connectivity / Broadband and Social Enterprise plus much more.

Co. Monaghan Migrant Integration Strategy
and
Action Plan 2020-2023

The County Monaghan Migrant Integration strategy was launched today, November 16th 2020 by Minister for Social Protection, Community and Rural Development, Heather Humphreys.

The three year strategy, commissioned by Monaghan Integrated Development and undertaken by KW Research and Associates, sets out Monaghan Local Community Development Committee’s plan to ensure the integration of all those who live in county Monaghan.

The vision for Monaghan is one that celebrates the diversity of our communities. A county where everyone who lives, works and visits are valued, respected and supported to fully participate and contribute to their communities. We aim to achieve this goal through collaboration, interagency working and promoting values of equality, dignity and inclusion.

Many of the actions will not affect you directly, you can support integration and belonging in many other simple ways. By welcoming people from diverse backgrounds into your community, your organisation, your sports club, your school, your home. By helping them to improve their English language ability where possible. By being friendly and by being ourselves, you will be making County Monaghan a better place for all.
