What is the Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme (SICAP)?
 
SICAP is the governments Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme.  It aims to tackle poverty, social exclusion and long-term unemployment through local engagement and partnership between disadvantaged individuals, community organisations and public sector agencies.
 
 
The Programme has 2 Goals:
 
Goal 1: Supporting Communities
We support local communities and groups to identify and address social inclusion and equality issues.
 
Does your community need support?
  *   Setting up a group.
  *   Accessing funding.
  *   Hosting a community event/meeting.
  *   Developing governance skills.
  *   Planning for the community.
  *   Doing community research.

Goal 2: Supporting Individuals

We work with individuals to help them to identify and take the steps to improve their quality of life and wellbeing and to access lifelong learning opportunities.

  *   Exploring your educational options.
  *   Accessing other services.

Are you unemployed and would like to explore the option of becoming self-employed?
 
Do you need help?
  *   Exploring a business idea.
  *   Accessing relevant enterprise training.
  *   Applying for the Back to Work Enterprise Allowance.
  *   Exploring the reality of self-employment.
